Any job you have, even a job that you are very fond of, will have its awful days and responsibilities that will feel dreadful to you. But, if you can find a way to Love what you do for work, you will never work a day in your life. This is a very honest and terrific way to appropriate and to look at our work, but we dont always get to do what we delight in or work alongside joyful and pleasant people. So to get the best achievements out of your work and have a passion for it, your frame of mind cant be based upon the work itself or our own sentiments.
Our work must emulate our situation as Gods children. We need to have great wisdom, and to take on a new manner of looking at our work. (Colossians 3:23) Work wholeheartedly and willingly at whatever you do, as though you were working for the Lord rather than for people. Work for the Lord you worship, and you will be delighted every day of your life.
We get the most out of our work when we view ourselves as servants. Our modern day culture teaches us to seek power and respect for ourselves, instead of working diligently for those who are in authority over us. But Gods Word preaches a different principle: Servants, obey your earthly masters in everything you do. Try to please them all the time, not just when they are watching you. Serve them sincerely because of your reverent fear of the Lord (Colossians 3:22). Biblical obedience isnt just an outward show along with an inward grumbling and resentment, but a true commitment to the welfare of our employer. Though times have changed, this godly principle still applies to the world of today.
Gods children are called to be His servants. Since we spend significant amounts of time at a job, much of our service will be done there. As employees, we are to apply the biblical principles of obedience and sacrifice, because whoever our human boss may be, God is the ultimate authority overseeing our actions. He wants to see us practicing righteousness at work.
In regards to working a Christian Home Business, in which YOU are now considered the boss, please remember that you still have a boss in charge of you - and that is our Lord. If God so blesses you with a work at home business, which I highly recommend for most everyone, you better take care of it and work very hard, or your ultimate authority (boss) will take it away from you. I recommend everyone to research the idea of a home based business, and see if it is the right decision for your financial situation.
Whether you are working as an employee, or are so blessed to have a home based business, remember that God did not create us to be mediocre or average at anything we do. God has called us to be a cut above, and doesnt want us to do just enough to get by. Hes called us to stand out in the crowd, and to be people of excellence and integrity.
There must not be any inkling of compromise in the standard of our work, or we could easily fail and be robbed of what could have been our greatest success stories or our most measurable achievements in our life. The only way we can really be completely satisfied in our life and work, is to be who we are commanded to be, and that is people of shear excellence and high integrity.
You must remember to never allow mediocrity or middle of the road to be a part of your life or work, as you could quite possibly be missing out on some wonderfully awesome blessings in your life. God doesnt bless average or middle of the road, but he does bless excellence and integrity! If we work with this measurement of excellence in our daily and constant thoughts, God promises to reward and take care of us! If you desire the highest and best results for your life, then you must start shooting for nothing but high excellence and integrity in your life now. You can easily start by always doing just a little bit more than you are expected or are presumed to do in all aspects of your life. It is this little bit more that will be the factor for your life being a life of just commonplace and boring, or a life of great excellence, adventure and grand achievements. - 21151
