The Secret Weapon to Getting the Most Traffic

By elle dixey

Can you make money in affiliate marketing? You bet you can. All it takes is perseverance and hard work. We all know we have to work to get anywhere in life. This isn't any different. So what are you waiting for? Go for it!

You are going to read that you don't need a website for your affiliate business. Back in the day, that was correct, but nowadays you definitely need one. Don't let anyone tell you differently. You need to bring traffic to that website so you can promote your affiliate products. One way to bring traffic is by pay-per-click advertising. Be very careful. Almost every affiliate marketer starting out has lost money using PPC. There's a lot to it and unless you have read a few books on it and thoroughly understand it, wait a while before you try it.

Traffic is the most important piece of the puzzle when you have a website from which you want to make money. and you need targeted traffic. This means people who are coming to your site should be intererested in your product. If you are selling ABC Widgets, then ideally you want every person coming to your site looking for an ABC Widget. How do you get them there? Writing articles about your product and submitting them to article distribution sites who distribute these articles to hundreds of sites throughout the web This is called viral marketing and it takes time. The absolute best way to get your articles out there is to use an article distribution service. They aren't free but they aren't overly expensive. Which is more important to you, time or money. Also know that most article distribution sites have their own list of sites to which they distribute your articles. So if you can, sign up for a few to get good coverage.

Never written an article? No problem. If you really have a fear of writing, you can hire a ghost writer. Maybe someone in your family likes to write. There is also no problem finding a book at the book store or buy one online that tells you how to write an article. There are step-by-step ebooks that outline the whole process for you. It's just like learning anything else. At first it seems hard, then all of a sudden, you've got it! Check out articles on the web and see if you can get a feel for how they are constructed.

Well, now we have traffic to your site. How do we make the customer want to buy your product? We entice them with benefits. We can also add reviews and testimonials. If you don't have any of your own, check some other places that sell the products and see if you can use their reviews and/or testimonials. They will add credibility to your site. But, be sure to get permission before using them and check the copyright at the bottom of the web pages. You might even go to the merchant's websites and see what they have. They may be more amenable to letting you use their reviews and testimonials, since you are promoting their product. By the way, benefits and features are two different things. Say a camera has a steady shot feature. That's all it is - a feature. Great but what can it do for you? This is the benefit - it will keep your pictures from being blurry or fuzzy from an unsteady hand. That's what people are looking for.

Follow these guidelines and you will be well on your way to getting your first affiliate sale. And don't give up, it all takes time. Good luck! - 21151
